These wax works are made in conjunction with tarot and astrology readings.  Using The Herbal Tarot deck, which features different healing herbs on each card, I identify the key healing plants from a reading and then source them to make the wax sculptures.  I cast them along with others plants for protection into semi-translucent wax slabs, which also contain remnants of paint rags and dyes. 

Pharmakon is an  Ancient Greek word which took on many different meanings depending on its context: it could be both a remedy and a poison, medicine or a drug, a charm, a spell, artificial color, or paint.
